The history of the cross and its significance can be dated back to the Garden of Eden. God instructed the first humans on earth to be mindful of sin and yet rebelled against God and delve into it. God instructed in Genesis 2 verse 16-17 that of every fruit of the garden is available for food except that of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and the day they will taste of it, they shall surely die. It was not in the original plan of God for man to become a slave to sin. God gave an instruction and it is expedient for his creation to follow his commands. Hell was made for the devil and the falling angels and not for man, but the day man sinned against God, was the very day, Hell gained the liberty of expansion Isaiah 5 verse 14. The cross is a place of agony, pain, suffering and for convicts, but we made our Lord Jesus Christ go through it, because of our sins. It is by the ordinances of God that every of his word stands sure. He said the soul that sin shall die and it is therefore, mandatory for someone to die, however, Jesus Christ the son of God, took upon himself the sin of man, been a man without sin and went to the Cross for our sake.
In the world today, we are so quick to condemn someone caught in an act of wickedness, however, to be candid, are we free from the same conviction. The scripture said, ‘for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God’, no one is exempted, not even me. We all are partaker of the course to which Jesus Christ came for in this world. We crucified him by our sinful nature. The truth about the love of Christ, is that it is immeasurable and for that it is incomprehensible for a mere dust like us to understand. The host of heaven was awaiting who would be the first to taste of the mercy of God, but to their greatest surprise, it was a thieve at Golgotha who first enjoyed that grace of God.
We have all been guilty of an act of wickedness, either in the past or present. Jesus Christ bore our sins unto the CROSS, bled and died for us to have the access unto ETERNAL LIFE. How long are we going to continue in our act of sin and expect the grace of God to abound. How long are we going to continue to live in slavery when the Lord has delivered us from the power of sin and slavery.
I have heard several speak about the fact that God has not been fair to them, but the truth is we are the ones hindering our deliverance, development and destiny. Jesus Christ has paid the price, once and for all, on the CROSS, when he said, “it is finished”. Have we ever sat to understand the word of Jesus on the Cross? It is finished, means, no more condemnation, no more death, no more curse and slavery. Why do we continue to deliberately return to an old life with nothing meaningful to it?
The preacher said something been the wealthiest to ever lived on earth in terms of material possessions. King Solomon said, ‘vanity upon vanity, all is vanity’.
Do not judge or compare one to another, for you don’t know whom he or she is, before the Lord, just like the robber on the Cross. If you are living your life at the expense of those around you, then you are already on your way to damnation for several will be called and receive JESUS CHRIST as their Lord and Saviour at the point of death but you who thinks such is destined for HELL would be surprised on the fateful day of the Lord, just like many will see the robber on the CROSS in heaven during the MARRIAGE SUPPER OF THE LAMB.
THE CROSS IS NOT A PALATABLE PLACE TO BE, YET THE KING OF KINGS BLED ON IT, JUST FOR YOU AND ME.
HELL is not meant for Man, only for the condemned before the beginning of creation. However, we have chosen to live a life of sin than a life with Christ.
A CALL TO REPENTANCE IS NOW ON FOR EVERYONE WHO IS READY TO FORSAKE HIS OR HER OLD HABIT AND RETURN TO GOD.
COME UNTO HIM, ALL THAT ARE IN LABOR AND ARE FILLED WITH BAGGAGE OF SIN, HE WILL GIVE YOU REST.
ISAIAH 45 VERSE 22
